About RootNotes

RootNotes was set up in 2020 by Bideford-based musician Becki Driscoll to enable her to work more closely with her own local community.

Becki is an established community musician with over 15 years of experience working with people from a wide range of backgrounds and musical experience. A graduate from the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (2002), Becki went on to work with Wren Music as a community musician as well as teaching fiddle locally and performing regularly as part of an English Fiddle duo with Nick Wyke. This year Becki is the lead tutor for the Halsway Manor Young Folk Programme as well as teaching on the annual English Fiddle weekend.

Becki firmly believes that music is something that anyone can enjoy and everyone can take part in. Music brings people together. The shared experience of playing and singing in a group setting is a wonderful way of building confidence, well-being and friendship.

Becki takes safeguarding seriously and ensures that she has regular safeguarding training and an enhanced DBS certificate.
